Jerry Shope has served as the Public Works Director for the City of Sky Valley since September 2007. He is married to his wife, Rohnda, and together they share a large and close-knit family that includes their children—Brandon, Bart, Victoria, Cassie, Bailey, and Brynn—and 18 grandchildren.
Jerry values professionalism, integrity, and clear communication, and he takes pride in continually developing his skills in an ever-changing work environment. Known for his consistency and reliability, he brings purpose to both independent and team-based work. Jerry is deeply committed to Sky Valley and plans to continue his career here, appreciating not only the natural beauty of the area but also the strong relationships he has built with fellow employees and residents—friendships he cherishes for life.
His goals include growing as a leader for his crew, helping guide and shape younger generations, and continuing to improve decision-making, efficiency, communication, and teamwork within Public Works. Above all, Jerry strives to live his faith, be a devoted husband, and remain a dedicated family man.

Water System Coordinator, Assistant Public Works Director

Cody English serves as the Water System Coordinator and Assistant Public Works Director for the City of Sky Valley. He began his service with the City on December 14, 2015, and currently holds a Georgia Class 2 Water Treatment Operator License (W2-015492).
Cody is married to his wife, Alicia, and they have two children, Cayden (11) and Alden (8). He is a driven and thoughtful professional who values personal growth, continuous learning, and meaningful work. Cody approaches each day with focus, adaptability, and a results-oriented mindset, striving to make a positive impact both independently and as part of a team.
His professional goals include achieving the Class 1 Water Treatment Operator license, obtaining a Class 3 Wastewater Treatment Operator license, and becoming a Certified Public Works Manager through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute. Above all, Cody is committed to being a man of faith, a devoted husband, and a dedicated father while continuing to serve the Sky Valley community with excellence.
